In a world of emerald and dreams A world where love exists I found you wandering all alone Where hearts stubbornly persist
Alone in the meadow, the sun so bright I lay in the arms of the earth The sky revealed all the dreams I had had since birth
Dreams of love and adventure With a prince, benevolent and kind Who cared for my heart, my body My soul, and my mind
We met beneath a great oak tree In the brief moments before dark And by the very next morning Our names had been carved in the bark
We hardly knew what had become of us So changed we were by love It was passionate and heady And gentle as a dove
In our innocence we thought that we would always be together Our daily lives would be spent In the company of each other
How foolish to think that it would last That nothing would go wrong It ended with the winter Like the final notes of a song
My heart was stolen and destoryed It will never be returned I had fallen to the cold, wet ground And felt the tears as they burned
Then the winter lay inside me Instead of outside like it should I wouldn't open my eyes at all I wasn't sure if I could
And as my tears turned into icicles And my body grew snow-white I dared to think of what I'd had On that hot summer's night
The next morning I saw an unusual sight That confused me rather so I saw myself all still and pale Surrounded in deep snow
As I floated higher in the clouds Peace draped over me I knew that where I was going Pain would never be
