My name's Amanda, but I write under Amy or AmyOphelia.
Honestly I'm a lot better at editing than I am writing, and I love to critique stories and fix grammar mistakes.
My favorite movie is "Dance of the Dead," a totally awesome-yet-cheesy zombie movie. My favorite song is the 70's song "Brand New Key" by Melanie followed by "Acceptable Losses" by Lisa Miskovsky.
In my opinion, the best book ever written is The Only Alien on the Planet by Kristin D. Randle about a 16-year-old (17? I don't remember) guy who hasn't spoken since he was a little boy, but he's an academic genius. Great book.
My embarassing guilty pleasure is writing fanfiction for things like Pokemon and Disney Channel movies and shows. I'd never show them to anyone because they're written for my own happiness and are generally some of the worst stories ever created. I don't think I'm the only one who does this... I hope, at least.
I have a large cardboard box in my basement full of all of the notebooks I wrote in when I was younger. Now, most of my writing is on the computer. The computer with a massive virus that won't turn on. Yeah, that was one of the totally best days of my life.
When I was younger, I had problems sleeping. To pass the time otherwise spent staring at the ceiling, I would imagine putting myself into my favorite TV shows or movies. I started writing down my little daydreams (which would now be classified as massive Sue fics). That's when I really got into writing. Now I write mostly satirical essays, nonsensical lyrics made to fit into music rather than to be serious, and realistic teen fiction.
Oh, and I massively overuse the words "totally" in real life and "really" in writing.
Whew! I hope I haven't bored anyone to death.
