I myself haven't finished a novel yet, but I learned from many young writers about their experiences in finishing novels.
Writing a book is not as difficult as most of people think. Do you want to be the one? Don’t worry to start it and write it on. For more, just follow my writing tips:
1. Remember! Inspiration couldn’t get out from your mind if you planned it to. It would come out itself if it’s unplanned. Strong inner aim will help you the writing process. BE OPTIMISTIC!!!
2. If your novel has been done, don’t hesitate to publish it to the publisher! Don’t be scared that your book will not be published. Remember, authors feel the same way as you do. Their books aren’t get easily published. Refusal will not let you down! If your book is refused, TRY AGAIN!!!!
3. Be confident to convince that your book is good to read by asking for feedbacks to your friends, just as an approval that you are ready to publish it!
4. Don’t let your writing career ruins your school activities! Remember school is always in #1!!
5. Writing a novel is up to your moods. If you’re not in your mood in writing novel, don’t force yourself! If you keep forcing yourself to write it not in appropriate mood, it can make your novels being ruined!
6. Don’t worry if the readers don’t like your novel just because you don’t add such like a love story or whatsoever things they mostly like. But you still have to know most of readers’ flavor!
7. To prevent your novel from plaguing, you need to read as many as novels, books, or sources. Before your write it on, you need to read them, who knows you figure out that someone has taken your inspiration and then you can cancel your idea and start to look the new one. Its opposite, to prevent your novel from being plagued by someone else, you have to smart and a little bit cheeky. You have to hide your novel ideas from your unreliable friends—except your family. Why you need to do so? Who knows one of your friends know about your idea and than steal your idea, write it, and publish first before you do that. If that happens, you can’t do anything again to claim that it’s your idea! Because it has taken by your jealous friend! Watch out!!
8. One more thing. Be original!!!
These are the simple tips in writing a novel!

I have a tip as well. Write the book backwards. Write the ending first and then the beginning.

Can't you also start in the middle / climax of your story then write till the ending. Then eventually go back and write the beginning?
